Leisure Club Case Study

The Client

One of the largest and most prestigious Central London Sports, Leisure and Golf Club offers its members a wonderful array of facilities including indoor tennis courts, an 18 hole golf course, croquet lawns and squash, swimming and other leisure facilities. These, together with health spa, bars, restaurants and a comprehensive events calendar ensure a lively, social environment. A large variety of membership categories are available for this thriving private club, which enjoys a significant waiting list for potential members.

The Commercial Need

The Club had grown its IT infrastructure in response to the needs and requirements of different departments as and when they arose. The problem was that as technology developed, each department responded separately to its specific infrastructure requirements. Staff time was being wasted in manual tasks and there was no overall strategy to use the efficiencies that good IT management could provide. The CEO, the Board and the club management shared a vision to standardise all technologies to make sure that the service provided to members was as efficient as possible, without a massive additional spend. A local leisure club had used Reliable Networks for a number of years to provide their IT support, and they were duly recommended them.

The Technical Challenges

The first task was to understand the vision and objectives of the CEO and the main club board. The Reliable Networks IT services team responded by performing an audit of all departments, third party providers and agencies. Membership cards, events booking systems, the club calendars, facility bookings membership payments and associated technologies were all considered in the overall project. In addition all internal and external telecommunications, security systems including cameras and all point of sales areas were examined. Read the rest of this entry

Law Firm Case Study

The Client

This North London law firm specialises in personal injury claims, often on a ‘no win no fee’ basis. The firm has been a client of Reliable Networks for over six years. The senior partner read a number of articles regarding social media and felt the firm might benefit from learning what the new phenomenon might do for his business. His first thought was to call Reliable Networks to invite them in for a discussion on the topic.

The Commercial Need

The client had a requirement to stay ahead of their competition and to better understand the power and influence of social media on the business’s target market. They were anxious to be one of the first law firms to understand and exploit the new communication revolution.

The Technical Challenges

The Reliable Networks team immediately briefed the senior partner and other key staff on the advantages and the major trends regarding the topic and, after a discussion and planning session, were tasked to produce a three month plan which would set up the firm on all relevant social media sites and allow them to move forward independently if they so wished. A second option was that Reliable Networks could be retained on a modest monthly fee to produce updates for them on a daily, weekly or bi-monthly basis. Read the rest of this entry

Fashion Retail Case Study

The Client

This prestigious client is a high end global fashion retail brand, based in Los Angeles and Milan. When the business sought to enter the busy UK market they looked for an IT provider who could take over all the strategy and planning of their IT communications as well as delivering a fast, reliable and complete infrastructure that included all internal communications, telephony, point of sale technology and immediate links with Head Office and other worldwide operations. They approached Reliable Networks through a third party retailer who had worked with the RN team before.

We were very impressed with the ‘can do’ attitude of the Reliable Networks team. They immediately instigated a plan which included purchase delivery installation, cabling, all telecommunications and the necessary technology for us to go about our business. We were left to plan the stock and to fit out our outlets without any need to interfere. The daily reports meant that we were informed at every stage of the project regarding progress and solutions without having to ask!

Commented the UK CEO.

The Client

Reliable Networks started to work with Brentford Football Club in 2007. At the time, the Club was positioned in the bottom half of the League 2 table, and with attendances falling by 40% following relegation from League 1 the previous season, there was little room for manoeuvre in terms of improving the facilities for supporters and staff at Griffin Park.

The Commercial Need

Financial survival was the key, so keeping costs low wherever possible was imperative.

With staffing levels pushed to their limits, it was vitally important that employees were able to work as efficiently as possible, particularly in the build-up to, and on, match-days.
However one of the main obstacles that staff faced on a daily basis was an out-dated IT infrastructure which was prone to crashing regularly, and often at the most important times.
