Next-Gen IT Infrastructure Empowers The Lansdowne Club

The Client

Established in 1935, The Lansdowne Club is considered one of the best private members’ clubs in the city, offering members a unique blend of tradition and sophistication. While its heritage is deeply rooted, delivering excellence in a modern hospitality environment requires strong digital infrastructure behind the scenes.

About the Lansdowne Club: Heritage & Digital Infrastructure

The club’s IT infrastructure had reached a breaking point. Servers were failing without warning, internet connections were unreliable, and core systems responsible for bookings, billing, and member engagement were crashing multiple times a day. Staff couldn’t take payments, check in guests, or access the files they needed to operate.

Wi-Fi coverage was inconsistent, storage was overloaded and poorly organised, and even basic tasks like accessing accounts had become disruptive. With no clear ownership of the IT environment and minimal documentation, most issues were being patched rather than properly fixed — and outages had become a daily norm.

For a premium hospitality venue, it was an unsustainable situation. Service levels were slipping, staff were under pressure, and the guest experience was at risk. The Lansdowne Club needed a complete IT infrastructure rescue.

The Solution

Reliable stepped in to lead a comprehensive infrastructure transformation. This wasn’t about upgrades – it was about rebuilding. The project began with a period of discovery, auditing the existing environment to map out vulnerabilities, risks, and dependencies. Armed with this insight, we delivered a full infrastructure refresh designed for stability, scalability, and simplicity.

We replaced the entire physical network – from structured cabling through to switches and access points – and deployed a cluster of Fortinet firewalls to provide secure, centralised control. Critical applications were migrated to new server infrastructure, dramatically improving performance and reliability. High-speed dual internet connections were introduced to ensure continuity even in the event of an outage.

Every part of the network was designed with the future in mind, ensuring the club had the capacity to support growing member expectations, richer digital services, and operational scalability.

The Outcome

The Lansdowne Club now benefits from a stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports daily operations and longterm goals. The transformation resolved years of risk and delivered measurable improvements:

– Near-total elimination of outages and downtime

– Fully refreshed, enterprise-grade network and server environment

– Critical systems such as Jonas now run with consistency and speed

– Seamless connectivity with highspeed, resilient internet

– Infrastructure ready to support cloud collaboration, digital growth, and future innovation

Reliable’s hospitality sector expertise played a key role throughout. We understood the service implications of every technical issue, and designed solutions to reduce operational friction and protect the guest experience. With the right foundation in place, the club is now empowered to evolve further with complete confidence in its technology.

“You take the time to understand us, you get to know the workings of the business, and you put forward sensible, reasonably priced solutions. If you’re looking to manage and maintain your IT without the cost of an in-house team, this is the way to do it.”

– David Herbert, CEO & Club Secretary
