Warehouse Infrastructure Upgrade & Relocation for Clarins UK

The Client

Clarins UK is a leading force in the beauty and skincare industry, delivering high-quality products to retailers and customers across the country. Beyond its commitment to sustainability and innovation, the company relies on a strong logistical network to keep its operations running smoothly. With a growing demand for efficiency and modernisation, Clarins UK continually seeks to improve its infrastructure to support its evolving business needs, while maintaining its valuable reputation.

Client Overview: Clarins UK’s Infrastructure and Logistics

Clarins UK had multiple obsolete systems stored in a legacy site that was no longer fit for purpose. The outdated infrastructure presented several challenges, including poor security and declining performance. To resolve these issues, Clarins aimed to upgrade its systems to modern cloud-based services, and relocate operations to a new state-of-the-art warehouse located in Harlow.

This dual challenge of relocation and system modernisation needed to be handled with precision to avoid disruption. Reliable is a trusted Clarins partner, and the team reached out to us to lead the project. This would ensure that the new infrastructure was built and deployed smoothly while maintaining continuity.

The Solution

Reliable delivered a fully managed solution, overseeing the project from initial planning to final deployment. The first step was a series of meetings with key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope and timelines. This was followed by a comprehensive technical discovery phase, assessing the existing infrastructure and identifying the best approach for the planned migration.

Based on these findings, we developed a detailed plan covering the warehouse build, network design, and device deployment. Close coordination with various departments ensured that all operational requirements were met, while keeping the project aligned with Clarins’ expectations.

Once planning was complete, we moved on to the physical construction of the new warehouse’s IT infrastructure. This included designing and implementing a robust network setup to support seamless connectivity across the site. End-user devices were deployed throughout the warehouse, equipping staff with the tools they needed to perform their roles efficiently and with confidence.

To support warehouse operations, we integrated key applications and cloud-based services, including inventory management and logistics systems, ensuring a smooth transition to the new environment.

Throughout the deployment, we provided continuous support, addressing any issues as they arose to maintain operational stability. An initial hyper-care support period was also offered, allowing us to quickly resolve any immediate concerns and fine-tune system performance. With a focus on proactive communication, we worked closely with all relevant Clarins teams. This meant that stakeholders were kept informed at every stage, and received timely updates on progress.

The Outcome

Despite delays in the warehouse site’s readiness, we successfully adapted our approach to meet the original project timeline. By staying flexible and adjusting solutions as needed, we ensured that the infrastructure upgrade and relocation were completed as planned, with no holdups along the way.

Over several months, the new warehouse infrastructure was fully implemented, delivering improved connectivity, enhanced operational efficiency, and a more streamlined workflow. The transition was carried out with minimal disruption, and the new systems provided a significant boost in security and performance. There was close collaboration between Reliable’s technical consultants, onsite IT specialists, and project management teams. The result was that Clarins UK achieved a seamless move to a more modern, high-performing warehouse environment, setting a foundation for future growth and development.
