We are very pleased to announce Reliable Networks is now Cyber Essentials certified. The process to obtain the certification involved a full assessment of our systems, which have been independently verified by a CREST Partner and have been presented with the certificate above.
At Reliable Networks we take Cyber Security very seriously and this is another security accolade to add to our collection. Alongside our ISO27001 certification we ensure that our systems and procedures are secure.
So what is Cyber Essentials?
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a Government backed cyber security standard against which organisations can be assessed and certified. The scheme is based on the ’10 steps of Cyber Security’ which has launched by the government in 2012. Within this the government urged companies to take ownership of their cyber risks and ensure a minimum level of cyber security. Despite this many companies continue to leave themselves open to attacks. The Cyber Essentials scheme identifies the security controls that a company should have in place to protect against cyber threats.
Does your organisation need Cyber Essentials certification?
With the GDPR being implemented in May and the growing number of cyber threats and malware, all organisations should be focused on their cyber security. The controls and mitigation strategies that are incorporated within the certification are applicable to all organisations, of all sectors and sizes. The Cyber Essentials certification can be a great selling point for an organisation to demonstrate to their customers that they take cyber security seriously, and this is something that is becoming more important to customers with the increased media coverage of cyber attacks in recent years.
The Cyber Essentials focuses on five main stratergies within the 10 steps to cyber security guide:
- Boundary Firewalls and Internet Gateways
- Secure Configuration
- Access Control
- Malware Protection
- Patch Management
